In 1996 the Holy Spirit inspired Tan to write her first novel in English, THE CALLING. Corrie Teman, a Eurasian in Indonesia, gets embroiled in the bloody aftermath of a failed coup by the Communists.  In the midst of grieving for her loved ones who fall victim to the coup Corrie rises up empowered by God's anointing for the tasks ahead.  The Calling is filled with heart-pounding suspense and life-stirring dialogues between God and Corrie.

Tan's second work is an autobiographical novel titled IF I RIDE THE MORNING WIND that chronicles Tan's spiritual life's journey from the time she first heard of Christ's crucifixion at the age of nine, to her wanderings in the desert of Islam, and her arrival in Christ's haven of Salvation.  The book offers a close-up of life in Indonesia and Islam, the supremacy of God's love and faithfulness, and His mercies that help us ride the morning wind above the tempestuous waves of life.

Instead of a narrative Tan has skillfully written this autobiography to read as a novel.  One unique feature is the closing of each chapter with a brief, Bible-based Personal Reflection.

ADVENTURES IN THE HOLY SPIRIT  is a compilation of true experiences Tan has gone through as she obeys the Holy Spirit to minister in unique and powerful ways.  This book is still in the works.
